    In this paper, the accumulated temperatures higher than 0℃ (T≥0℃) and 10℃(T≥10℃) in North China and Northeast China during the period of 1956~1995 are calculated, and their change tendency are analyzed. The results indicate that the accumulated temperature in North China and Northeast China has an obvious changing tendency, and in 80~90’s the accumulated temperature raised gradually as a wave. The accumulated temperature is closely related to the duration of T≥0℃ (or T≥10℃) period and their changing tendency are similar. The results of the regression analysis between the accumulated temperature and the duration of T≥0℃ period and mean annual temperature show that if the mean annual temperature raise 1℃ the accumulated temperature of T≥0℃ will increase about 117~252℃·d and the duration of T≥0℃ period will extend about 5~13.5days.

    A method for calculation of drought index based on precipitation and evapotranspiration is described. According to this method, drought criterion can be decided. Furthermore, the occurrence pattern of drought during the transplanting period of rice is discussed and prevention strategy is discussed.

    The system is a conbanation of many kinds of statistic methods for meteorological forecast of cotton. The design thought of the expert system is close to the cotton field production management. It is a three in one comprehensive decision making computer system, which is geared to the needs of users in cotton meteorological information service. This meteorological forecast system for cotton and the production management subsystem are consist of database, methodological database, index data base, countermeasure database, inferential module, and product forecast module. The information consultation subsystem consists of the information history of cotton production, current cotton information and the prediction of cotton production in the future, information on cotton production management and other related information. The system provides a good synthetic environment for the system users in decision making results of four years practical use showed that the service level in decision-making of cotton meteorology has been improved significantly.

    The microclimate environment in population of erect panicle type and curved panicle type rice is determined. Results showed in population of erect panicle, the effect of panicle morphology on light distribution in canopy was conspicuous, and occurred mainly in the middle and top layers of the canopy. In the canopy of population of erect panicle type, the light distribution was more unform and improvement in the up-layer. The temperature in erect panicle population was higher than that of curved panicle population and it was more humid in erect panicle population than in curved panicle population, which was favorable to the improvement of photosyhtesis efficiency. The concentration of CO 2 in the up-layer of the erect panicle population was higher than curved panicle population and it was lower than curved panicle population in the middle and bottom layers of the canopy. It was concluded that erect panicle population is well ventilated in the up-layer, and photosyntesis was strong in the middle and bottom layers of the canopy.

    Effects of enhanced ultraviolet radiation (UV B, radiation, broad band, 280~400nm) on the germination of seed and growth of seedling were investigated. The results show that the enhanced UV B radiation greatly inhibited seed germination process and the growth of seedling. Different crops have a great different sensitivity to the enhanced UV B radiation. The results also show that the sensitivity to enhanced UV B radiation of the root is nearly to that of the stem and leaf.
