Abstract: The climatic fitness for tree planting in Jilin Province was zoned by analyzing hydrological balance.The results showed that the West Jilin was not suitable to plant arbor at the large scale,but mainly to plant brush and arbor where water was available.Arbor planting was suitable in the most parts of Middle Jilin,but more suitable to plant brush in the hill slope and hillock.The East Jilin was a suitable region for arbor planting.
