Abstract: On the basis of analysis of the regularity of rice colony density variation, defects of the logistic model in the simulation of the grow.h process of paddy rice colony density are indicated. Therefore a modified logistic model with time-lag effect is used in the dynamical simulation and its biological significance is discussed. Simulation results for the density variation of the early rice, Single-crop rice, late rice show that the revised model is much better.
