Abstract: The effects of climate on agricultural production development were analysed and researched in this. paper. The climatic variability in China is a main factor causing the instability of agricultural production. 60 percent of agricultural disastrous area per year is caused by drought, potential effects of other disadvantageous climatic factors may cause food production to decreaes by over 5 million tons. In the condition of 5 percent yield variability, the lose of fluctuation for total food production in 1970's is great more than the lose in 1950'$. In the same conditions of policy, seeds and farming techiques etc., food yield is mainly limited by climatic factors with the development of agricultural production, the reletionship between climate and agricultual production become more and more close. In making agricultural developing strategies, the climatic variability should be taken into accout.
