Abstract: The methane emission in rice fields by longterm fertilization treatments at Wangcheng County of Hunan Province was determined by using the static chamber-GC theory with manual method. The results indicated that the mix of organic fertilizer with nitrogen fertilizer would lead to large numbers of methane emission, while there was only a few methane emission from the treatment with simply nitrogen fertilizer. The methane emission fluxes from manure treatment were less than the straw treatment. The effect factors of the various fertilizer treatments on methane emission in rice fields were discussed.
