Application of MODIS Data to Monitoring of Land Use/Cover Changes in Fuzhou Region

Abstract: The dynamic inter-annual changes of standardized vegetation indexes for the different land types in Fuzhou region were calculated and analyzed during 2001-2005,by using MODIS data of EOS satellite based on GIS.The monitoring and driving forces of land use/cover changes in Fuzhou region were studied.The results showed that the standardized vegetation indexes based on MODIS were sensitive to inter-annual changes of land use/cover changes in the region.The MODIS data could be used to monitor the regional spatial distribution and area of land use/cover changes.
