It is important for the guarantee of tomato supply all the year round in markets in the middle and lower Yangtze River area. It is possible and also profitable to plant tomato in mountain area in summer and autumn by utilizing the ■ool climatic resources. The climatic-ecological responses of tomatoes at different altitudes were investigated in detail. It is concluded that tomatoes grow very well at the altitudes 600-1000 metres above sea level in summer and autumn in Tian-Mu mountain area. The optimum transplanting and starting harvest time were calculated from the view point of fully utilizing the climatic resources in the mountain area after three year study.

Dwarf wheat can he divided into loose type and compact type in accordance with scattered degree. The light and temperature are different from those of long-stalked wheat. Also, there are obvious differences in light and temperature between two types. The results obtained from observations for years showed that the meteorlogical eco-environments of dwarf wheat are very complex, and there are some light-temperature combinations among them, which aren't confined to eco-environmental worsening. This study not only provides meteorological ecological basis for dwarf wheat breeding but also has certain reference values to wheat cultivation and prevention of diseases.

In this paper calculated the evapotranspiration of trees by climatological method during their growih season in loessial Plateau Gansu. The result showed that the calculated value was coincided with the real value. Based on the water consumption index of arbor during its growing season and the observed data of rainfall, water loss and soil erosion, the moisture condition of arbor in Loessial Plateau, Gansu is assessed in detail. Finally, the author suggests the concept of the "actual degree of aridity" and the "actual degree of wettability". According to the latter determining which kind of trees are suitable to plant in various kinds of climate-plantcover regions, and under various topographic features what arbor and bush should be selected.
